LACTEEZE is available as tablets or drops, which work as follows:
LACTEEZE TABLETS are taken just before eating anything containing lactose (dairy). The Lacteeze temporarily replaces the lactase enzyme in your digestive system. Lacteeze tablets are suitable for people consuming liquids (such as milk) or solids (such as ice cream or pizza).
LACTEEZE DROPS are mixed with dairy that is in a liquid form (such as milk, breast-milk or infant formula) and the mixture is left for a while so that the LACTEEZE converts the lactose in the dairy into a more digestible form of milk sugar.
LACTEEZE tablets are very convenient to use. They come in Children’s Strength and Extra Strength for adults. Children’s Strength is also suitable for adults who have mild lactose intolerance or who consume very little dairy at a time.
LACTEEZE tablets have a pleasant taste - peppermint flavour for adults and strawberry flavour for children.
LACTEEZE tablets are available in 100 tablet bottles or bubble packs of 10 tablets.
LACTEEZE tablets need to be taken every time you consume dairy products. Simply chew or swallow 1-3 tablets just before consuming dairy foods such as milk, pizza, cheese or ice cream. For most adults 2 tablets are sufficient, but you can adjust the dose to suit your individual needs. The more dairy you eat, the more LACTEEZE you will need. Any excess enzyme is simply eliminated from the body through the digestive system.
For young children, you may want to crush the tablet in a little bit of water or jam if the child doesn't like chewing tablets.
The tablets increase your level of lactase enzyme for about one hour (less in children). After this time the Lacteeze has passed through the digestive system where it is needed, so if you want to consume more dairy, you need to repeat the dose.
Extra Strength: Dextrose, microcrystalline cellulose, lactase (4,000 FCC lactase units), calcium stearate and natural mint flavour.
Children’s Strength: Dextrose, microcrystalline cellulose, lactase (3,000 FCC lactase units), calcium stearate strawberry fruit crystals, citric acid, natural flavours and natural colour.

Lacteeze Drops can be used to reduce lactose content in fresh milk, reconstituted milk, canned condensed milk, breast-milk, infant formula, creams, chocolate milk and any other fluid milk products.
Milk that has been converted with LACTEEZE drops has a slightly sweeter taste although nutritionally the milk is not affected.
Lacteeze drops are available in 7ml adn 15.5ml sizes.
Ingredients
Lactase, glycerin.
Cow’s milk
Simply add 5 drops of LACTEEZE to one litre of milk, stir well and leave in the fridge for 24 hours prior to consumption. This will convert 70-80% of the lactose.
If you wish to convert more lactose, you can increase the number of drops used or leave the milk in the fridge for longer.
Express a few tablespoons of breastmilk into a sterilised container and add 4 drops of LACTEEZE. The foremilk contains most of the lactose. Place the mixture aside (not in the fridge) for 5 minutes then give the mixture baby. You can then breastfeed as normal. Studies have shown that this method forms a “coating” for the baby’s digestive system which allows the remaining breast-milk to be digested normally.
If your baby is very sensitive you may need to use tablets instead of drops (tablets replace the lactase enzyme directly rather than converting the lactose in the breastmilk).
To use the tablets for breast feeding - crush quarter to half of a LACTEEZE tablet (either Extra Strength or Children's Strength) and mix with a little expressed breast milk or boiled and cooled water to form a thin paste. Put the mixture on baby’s tongue before breast-feeding. The amount needed will depend on the individual baby’s needs.
Any excess LACTEEZE is eliminated through the digestive system.
Add 4 drops of LACTEEZE per 50ml of warm expressed milk (not hot, approximately 30-40oC), shake well and wait 30 minutes prior to consumption. Do not refrigerate. This will convert approximately 90% lactose.
Alternatively, you can add 2 drops of LACTEEZE per 50mL of warm expressed milk, shake well and wait 5 minutes before refrigerating for 4 hours prior to consumption. This will convert approximately 80% lactose.
Baby Formulas
If the infant is not able to consume a lactose free formula:
Add 4 drops of LACTEEZE per 50ml of warm infant formula (not hot, approximately 30-40oC), shake well and wait 30 minutes prior to consumption. Do not refrigerate. This will convert approximately 80% lactose.
Alternatively, you can add 2 drops of LACTEEZE per 50mL of warm infant formula, shake well and wait 5 minutes before refrigerating for 4 hours prior to consumption. This will convert approximately 60% lactose.
Freezing Breastmilk
Follow the instructions for expressed breastmilk above, making sure that you do not freeze the mixture until after the conversion process has taken place. Then simply thaw and use as needed. Discard any milk that is not used after thawing. Do not refreeze.
*Note: LACTEEZE is an enzyme and works better at warm temperatures. Do not add it to very cold or hot milk.
